End of 2012 Legislative Sessions!

The 2012, 2nd Special Session came to a close on the morning of April 11, 2012 and while the 2nd special session was only 1 day long, it gave our elected officials time to finish out the final details of the Supplemental Operating and Capital Budgets.

Thanks to the efforts and hard work of our staff and partners our state's Veteran Service Organizations, the Governor's Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee and the Veterans Legislative Coalition, we at WDVA will be able to continue providing the programs and services our state’s veterans deserve and have come to depend on.

I am also excited to announce that the Supplemental Capital Budget provides $14.4 million to construct the Walla Walla State Veterans Home!  This represents the remaining state commitment for the project and paves the way for us to request the 65% funding match from the Federal VA State Homes Construction Grant.  More information on this project will be available on the WDVA website in the months to come.
